II Chronicles 7:14 begins "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray..."

Believing in the power of prayer when we pray in Jesus' name, our Women in the Church have a monthly gathering at LOPC in room 111 on the 3rd Monday of each month at 10:30 a.m. for prayer and fellowship.

We pray for (1) our local church and leaders, (2) our global church and leaders, and (3) for each other that the presence of God becomes more evident in every aspect or our lives.

Each time we meet we will open with a short discussion on how prayer is developing our relationships with Christ. We will then spend the rest of the hour focusing on a biblical verse relating to prayer and how it can help us pray in God's will. We will look at a different verse each time we meet. Each woman can participate in the selection of the "prayer" verse as we develop this ministry of prayer. Please go here to view the list of scripture verses studied.

We will encourage each other to pray during this meeting time either in "silent" mode or "verbal" mode, whichever is the most comfortable for each woman.

Coffee will be available. If you have questions regarding the prayer ministry, please contact Barb Rountree by phone at 706-467-3991 or by email at
