NURSERY

Our nursery is a state of the art facility, accommodates ages newborn - 3 years of age, and is available each Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

From the earliest ages, we seek to build a spiritual foundation through praying specifically for your child, teaching biblical themes, and reinforcing key concepts. Baby-step-by-baby-step, God transforms a life. We believe by faith that the little ones in LOPC nursery will one day step into their adulthood grounded in the Word of God, secure in their convictions, with a faith that will weather the storms of life.
Please carefully read through this guide to our nursery policies, procedures, and schedules. You can help us take the very best care of your child by being well informed as to how our nursery operates. We look forward to a special relationship with your family as together we watch God's plan for each little life unfold.

  • Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church is proud of the facilities in our nursery. All furniture and toys were meticulously selected with the children's comfort and enjoyment in mind. Everything in the nursery is sanitized each week to maintain our pristine conditions. Our carpets are cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis.
  • Our congregation has defined our Child Protection Policy Statement to demonstrate our absolute and unwavering commitment to the physical safety and spiritual growth of all of our children.  Each Nursery worker undergoes an extensive training program before they serve.  A copy of our "Child Protection Statement" is available upon request.
  • Security is of utmost importance to us!  Every precaution is taken to make sure that your child is as safe as possible.  Every family will receive a pager in order that a parent can be reached within minutes.

Nurturing teachers

Psalm 78:1-4 says "O my people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter hidden things, things from of old-what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done."

Infants and Walkers

(Infants-23 months) Room 104

Babies are welcomed by loving caregivers who will cuddle, rock, and play with each child. Our nursery rooms are equipped with infant swings, age-appropriate toys, and a safe space for "little explorers." The quiet heartbeat of this ministry is prayer. Soft worship music is played and sung.  Walking toddlers begin their morning with quiet, supervised play. Caregivers minister to these children by giving gentle hugs, reading stories, and engaging your children in large/small muscle activity. The children will hear a Bible lesson that is reinforced with simple Bible truths. These Bible truths are spoken to the children throughout the morning and woven into each activity. Children will be drawn into worship as caregivers sing songs and pray with and for each child. A snack of goldfish and water is given.

Toddlers

(2 years-3years) Room 105

Loving teachers and caregivers will welcome little ones and usher them into quiet, supervised play. From 9:30 am , dedicated teachers will endeavor to shape and impart a big picture of God. The children will hear the whole counsel of God over the course of the year and learn about the promised Son of God, Jesus, who loves them. Teachers and caregivers will work together to lead the children in worship through Christ-exalting songs and prayers. During the rest of the morning, caregivers will carry the baton of faith by reinforcing biblical principles and language through planned activities and play. Parents are encouraged to share God's truth through weekly take-home papers featuring the lesson, songs, and Bible memory. A snack of goldfish and water is given.
When the four and five year olds leave the Worship Celebration the three year olds join them for Preschool Worship in Room 107.
