Are you new to LOPC? This is what your first visit might look like:
When you arrive you are invited to park in the front of the building in the designated parking area for first time guests, which is located near the main entrance. There is also a portico for your convenience.
At the front door you will be met by greeters, who are there to direct you to the Welcome Center or Nursery (ages 0-3), and to answer any questions you may have. In our Welcome Center we have many brochures which outline the activities in our church, including Small Groups, Sunday School, Children and Youth Ministries - just to name a few.
We have two Morning Worship Celebrations; one at 9:00 a.m. (mask only) and one at 11:00 a.m. (mask optional). There is music which consists of a blend of traditional hymns, choruses, and praise music. The sermons are designed to be bible-based messages to equip you in your Christian walk. Before the sermon, children ages 4-6 are dismissed to the Children's Worship in Room 106 and 107 (you may accompany them to see where to pick them up). If your children are shy, they're welcome to attend the adult service with you, but most kids really enjoy this experience. It is an interactive and age appropriate Bible study.
We encourage everyone to dress comfortably, whether it be traditional church clothes, business casual, or nice casual attire. When you arrive in the sanctuary, you'll be given a copy of the "Bulletin" which has the agenda for the day's service, upcoming events, and the weekly schedule. An insert will include our prayer requests, financial and missions information, and also an outline for the sermon, with room to make notes if you like. A Friendship Register is passed down the rows for you to enter any information you would like us to have. After your third visit, you will be provided with a name tag. This will make it easier for our members and regular attenders to get to know you.
After the Morning Worship Celebration you will be able to pick up your children from their classrooms or the nursery. Church is about the worship of God and our Savior Jesus Christ, but it is also about community and fellowship, which we hope you will feel during your visit to Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church.
We look forward to your visit with us!
